How much do custom shades cost?+
Most roller shades run about $430 to $650 per window, installed, and most homes spend $4,500 to $7,500. Other products are priced at your free measure. Our pricing page explains what changes the price.
Is the in-home measure free?+
Yes. We come to you, measure every window, show real fabric samples and give you a firm written price. There is no obligation.
How long does it take to get my shades?+
Roller shades are usually installed about two weeks after you order. Shutters and some other products take longer; we give you a date at your visit.
Who installs the shades?+
Every job is installed by Blinds by Ricky, a licensed window-covering contractor (CSLB #1126690, class D52).
Where are the shades made?+
Roller shades and vertical blinds are made by a local fabricator in Baldwin Park, which is why roller shades can be installed in about two weeks. Other products are ordered from trusted manufacturers.

What products do you install?+
Roller shades (light-filtering, solar screen and blackout), motorized shades, cellular shades, plantation shutters, faux wood blinds, vertical blinds and woven wood shades.
Do you offer motorized shades?+
Yes. Motorization can be added to roller shades, with remote, app or voice control depending on the system. We price it per shade at your visit.
Are your shades safe for kids and pets?+
Roller shades can be made cordless, and motorized shades have no cords at all.
What is the difference between light-filtering, solar and blackout?+
Light-filtering softens the light and gives daytime privacy. Solar screen cuts glare and heat but keeps your view. Blackout blocks the light for sleeping.
Can I get different shades in different rooms?+
Yes. Most homes mix products and fabrics room by room, and we price every window separately.
How much is the deposit?+
10% of the job, never more than $1,000. The balance is due at installation.
Is there a warranty?+
Every install comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty.
What should I have ready for the measure?+
Just clear access to the windows and an idea of how you use each room. We bring the fabric samples.
